RE: New tc options? And ladies, is a bathroom mandatory?

I am woman, had a Palomino popup TC, and later a Adventurer 810WS and towed a 4 horse trailer. No extensions needed for same reason. I did also chase with tow vehicle. Palomino originally had no hot water, but added that later, and used a porta pottie (barrel one they sell at wallyworld) I had outside shower. It worked fine. I wanted more froo-froo, so I got the Adventurer.

RE: when its done and over with???

Well, my mom passed when my parents were fulltiming. During her illnesses, we kids just went to that area as if that was where they lived "stick and brick" anyhow.... she was in the hospital, and we crashed with Dad in the 5ver. So my point is, it's the same either way...end results I mean.

RE: Why are people against RVing?

Now the thread is RV'ers against Hotels! :B :B :B Man, I don't know what hotels you guys stay at, but if there is that much nasties going on, I don't know how my husband stays so healthy! He should be dead by now! Maybe I need to up his life insurance, I do want to mourn in Barbados you know! Cameras, spying, germs, oh my! Reminds me of the song "Paranoia will Distroy ya!" If "they" want to watch video of my aged arse doing my personal landscaping, have at it! :B

RE: Medicine Cabinet and Toilet!

Someone here on this site uses velcro for the small items in their med cabinet. Filled the upper areas with items that wouldn't have fit with the larger ones on the shelves.

RE: Cool Austrian RV

Where's the door to get in? :B Imagine figuring out what vehicle would be needed to tow that! With all those angles the wind would push it.....????????????? What "sway" control to use? hehe

RE: Bees

Have the REI screen house and hubby puts it up by himself. He puts it together, and we both then put it over the picnic table. The 10x10 may not give you enough room around the campground picnic tables. Ours has a rainfly w/canopy that we can set up at the entrance of our tent so we can go from tent to screen house and not get wet. Works well.

RE: just gotta ask

Can you play banker? With how it is hard to get financing, it may be worth it for you. Make money on it with the interest, and not have to wait....unless you really need that money for your down payment. Just throwing that out atcha.

RE: My weekend with photos and a point!!! Smokers stay away!

Ex smoker here, but always crop-clipped or as some call it field strip my butts. I get SO angry at any litter. Used to clean up the campsite of all butt from others so people wouldn't think they were mine. On the Blue Ridge Parkway, would get so mad because I saw a lot of bikers that threw their butts. I would pick up at the overlooks too. I hate litter of any kind. Don't get me all revved up about signs! Too many say or state nothing! :B

RE: deck

2.5 hours you pondered over this eh? :B Steve_in_29 on 09/01/08 03:35pm To Steve_in_29, The washing machine, preferably an old Maytag gasoline model, is an Appalachian Mountains thing. LOL KurtSorry, my apologies for mixing up my redneck metaphors. LOL * on edit* Though I guess to be totally accurate the washing machine would be a hillbilly thang and not redneck huh? :B* This post was edited 09/01/08 06:23pm by Steve_in_29 *

RE: We've Been Robbed!

Years ago, there were alot of horse trailers going missing. So, many people put their names/phone numbers on the roofs of theirs. Easy to spot from the air.

RE: Everybody likes fluffy white bunnies

Beaverdance, Many don't want a taxable income. They volunteer and get "paid" with their site, but it isn't recognized as "work". There are different ways of looking at any of these. I think it is great to volunteer as long as it isn't bumping out a paid position. It does happen. Why have the overhead of bennys, paperwork, etc when we can get it for free? Most private places work the same way.... barter system...a trading of goods of no tax value. Almost the same as working off the books, but don't say that, it makes people mad :B Often the person is now a subcontractor....so there is often a contract...much easier to hide the money if no one is claiming it. No different than migrant or illegal workers. Problem with that is if push came to shove, in some states (NC is one) if it smells like a employee, it can be! So... people need to be careful tax wise.
